A recent truck accident occurred that involved a FedEx semi truck and eight vehicles. The accident, which occurred on a recent Thursday morning in May, happened in Nashville. When Tennessee residents are involved in similar truck accidents that result in their suffering serious injuries, the victims may have legal recourse.
The accident occurred during the morning rush hour on Interstate 24 West. Authorities say that a FedEx semi truck struck at least one other vehicle, possibly one other and these collisions set off a dangerous chain reaction. A portion of the road was closed as the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Metro police conducted their investigation.
One vehicle was smashed under the truck, while another caught fire and was effectively destroyed. The second vehicle's driver suffered injuries to both his head and his leg. Three others were rushed to nearby hospitals. The driver of the semi truck received a citation for fatigue.
When people are injured in truck accidents, the steps the victims must often take afterward may be confusing and appear overwhelming. The parties who are deemed responsible for such an accident may have claims filed against them by the injured persons, who have the right to seek restitution. Financial restitution, based upon proof of negligence, can help to cover the victims' documented financial losses, including the cost of medical treatment. When Tennessee residents are involved in similar truck accidents, they typically choose to consult experienced personal injury attorneys who can not only assess the validity of the proposed claims but offer ongoing legal support through the claims process in a Tennessee civil court as well.
