Tennessee residents can better appreciate their daily lives and their family members when they stay aware that a tragic accident could take one of them away in an instant. Every single day, loved ones mourn the loss of someone dear who was lost to a sudden and unexpected Tennessee traffic accident. However, as many are already aware, the empty space of not having this person in our lives never really goes away.
Fortunately, three individuals escaped death in a severe car accident that occurred in Putnam County. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash took place at approximately 5:20 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 30. The site of the accident was along Highway 70 close to State Route 56.
Among the injured were a husband in wife who were 85 years of age and 64 years of age, respectively. The husband of this couple was driving their vehicle in a westerly direction on Highway 70, when they abruptly crossed through the median and smashed into another automobile in a head-on collision. The driver of the other vehicle, a 63-year-old man also suffered injury.
Police say that they will charge the 85-year-old man in this accident for operating a motor vehicle without a license and failing to exercise appropriate care. This man and his wife, suffered injury that required treatment in a hospital. Their current conditions are not immediately known.
These kinds of head-on collisions are common on Tennessee highways. As for the victims who survived this accident, it is certainly cause of celebration that they were able to escape a head-on collision without suffering fatal injuries. However, the medical costs of hospital visits, time spent out of work and the time it takes to recover from serious injuries will certainly take its toll. Indeed, the 63-year-old man who was injured in the other car may choose to pursue legal action to get compensation for his personal injuries and property damage resulting from the accident. Especially because the 85-year-old driver was faulted for the incident, he may be successful in obtaining such compensation, which could be essential to his swift and comfortable recovery.
