Allstate Insurance Company recently published a report describing America's best drivers and where they live. However, Memphis, Tennessee does not appear to rank high on the list in terms of safe drivers. The company's study sought to rank each of America's 200 most populous cities to determine where a car accident is most likely to occur and which city has the best drivers.
The study suggests that Memphis, Tennessee drivers rank 84th in terms of safety. It provided further statistics that says Memphis drivers can expect to be involved in one car accident approximately every ten-years. Worse, it appears that Memphis has dropped from last year's placing of 75th safest.
Still, it does appear that driving conditions in Memphis, Tennessee are much safer than in our nation's capital, where drivers are 100 percent more likely than average to be involved in a car accident. The safest area in the nation, in terms of driving, appear to be Fort Collins, Colorado. On a more somber note, driving fatalities due to car accidents increased by 1,700 nationwide from the years 2011 to 2012.
One could speculate on the many reasons why roadway fatalities and accidents have been increasing in certain areas of the nation. However, it does seem that many Americans, including those who live in Tennessee, are living complex lives with many stresses and responsibilities. It is therefore important that everyone take a defensive posture while driving and take care to be as cautious as possible to avoid accidents. In case of a car accident that is caused by a negligent or unlawful driver, victims who suffer injuries can pursue legal action against that driver at fault and seek compensation for their injuries.
