Catastrophic truck accidents claim lives in Tennessee

The sheer size and weight of a semi-truck makes it a deadly weapon if truck drivers do not exercise caution when operating their rigs. Tennessee truck drivers have a responsibility to themselves and other road users to pay attention and use the utmost care when maneuvering their massive trucks. Failure to do so can result in truck accidents that have life altering affects. Recently, a truck driver that purportedly failed to exercise due caution caused a horrific accident that resulted in the deaths of two young people.

The young couple, ages 25 and 28 respectively, were traveling with friends on a Tennessee Interstate. The group was on their way to the Bonnaroo Music Festival. The vehicle they were riding in was stopped in traffic as result of an earlier car accident. While they were stopped, a semi-truck crashed into the back of the car and resulted in a catastrophic, fiery truck accident. The two young people, who had begun dating in April, were killed in the crash.

Four other people were also injured in a truck accident, ages ranging from 21 to 27. Several other people were involved in the crash but were uninjured. At this point, there's no indication as to what caused the truck driver to strike the vehicle. According to police, the truck driver has been charged with failure to exercise due caution. It is possible that the truck driver could face further charges pending an investigation.

The devastation that accompanies truck accidents of this magnitude is second only to the emotional pain and suffering associated with the loss of life. The victims of this accident and their families may be entitled to financial reparations for damages sustained. Additionally, the families mourning the loss of the young couple may need help to recoup the costs associated with end-of-life arrangements.
